Creating Spatial Inspirations
Visual representation matters. Layered and diverse were the key drivers behind the visualization direction for Shaw Contract’s flooring collection “Community”.
Renderings allowed us to work with more agility and cost-effectiveness. Photography is often a slower, more complex and expensive process when you factor in location scouting, organizing a shoot and post-production. Importantly, renderings allowed the flooring to be shown in a bigger spatial context - such as a hotel lobby or open-plan office space - we believe this makes for more impactful product marketing for our clients.

For the “Community” collection, we analyzed pattern size, style and colors along with the different environments the products would be showcased in. We then created a narrative of spatial renderings and illustrations that reflected the handmade style and intention of the flooring collections, this case one that was inspired by Berber artisanal weaving techniques from the Morocco High Atlas mountains.

Architectural illustrations and the design direction for spatial renderings were developed and we also provided creative guidance on the project which resulted in these captivating images.

Shaw Contract featured these renderings and illustrations as part of their final print marketing collateral, which allowed their customers to see the carpet designs in multiple spatial contexts; from hotel room, to lobby, cafe lounge and workplace areas.
